Coaching for Leaders

Coaching is all about you.

Your change is in your hands.

You might have taken on a new role, be in the middle of a career change or find yourself in an organization that has been turned upside down. Whatever it is, starting points for coaching are manifold.

Coaching is above all an intensive and thought-provoking reflection process. It allows you to step back and develop fresh perspectives, to turn a feeling of being stuck into new possibilities. Coaching supports you in your personal growth, to gain in self-confidence and to feel empowered to step up to your challenges.

The process might feel uncomfortable at times, but that's typically the moment when you learn and grow the most.

As your coach, I want you to gain clarity about your desired impact. Together, we explore your aspirations and build on your resources and talents to achieve those. We also uncover and work with your limiting beliefs, so they become your allies and not your show stoppers.

You determine the focus of your coaching and how to move forward from where you are right now, how to approach a given situation differently while remaining fully authentic.

"Julia's coaching was incredibly helpful in my professional development. Her open, honest and empathic coaching method allowed me to develop a clearer vision of future career options. I particularly appreciated the holistic approach that considers all aspects of your personal development. I would recommend her to anyone, whether you are looking for short-term professional changes or to explore more long-term career paths."

Coaching approach

In line with the International Coaching Federation, I view coaching as a collaborative process where reflection and partnership help leaders and organizations reach their fullest potential. The following principles guide me in my work:

  • In my coaching practice, I embrace a holistic approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of personal and professional aspects of life. This means we will not only tackle your immediate challenges as a leader but also explore your values, beliefs, and emotions, thereby placing your challenges within the broader context of your life. If you prefer a surface-level approach, I may not be the right coach for you.

  • In parallel, I incorporate a systemic approach into my coaching methodology, considering each individual within their broader organizational context. People don't operate in isolation, especially in complex international organizations. They are influenced by their roles, the organization's workings, and its dynamics. This comprehensive perspective helps us address challenges in a more effective way, especially when it comes to leadership roles.

  • Throughout the coaching process, I collaborate with my coachee to establish a well-defined, positively framed goal that aligns with both personal aspirations and organizational objectives. Together, we uncover personal strengths, values, and beliefs that can drive effective leadership. We also address limiting beliefs that might hinder progress, all the while fostering new perspectives. Constructive feedback, reflection, and emotional integration are central part of my coaching work.

  • Especially when coaching leaders, I occasionally share practical tools from my experience as an organizational developer and leadership consultant, being aware that leaders sometimes ask for more of a sparring their coachings. However, I believe self-discovered solutions have a longer-lasting impact.

About me

My way of coaching is shaped by my educational background as psychologist, my training as coach from a variety of different schools (management coaching, systemic approach, co-active coaching), as well as from my experience as leadership coach, trainer and consultant in a variety of different cultural contexts.

This results in a coaching approach, which focuses holistically on you as a person in your very specific context.
